The AYSO Audience
PLAYSOCCER is mailed quarterly to each of AYSO’s 450,000 member households. Estimated pass-along readership is more than 1.5 million per issue. No single soccer magazine can deliver so many readers — let alone readers like ours.
PLAYSOCCER’s primary audience is the AYSO member, from our youngest player to our oldest volunteer. Surveys indicate 90 percent of our members read PLAYSOCCER cover-to-cover, and 60 percent of parents spend between 30 minutes and two hours with the magazine.
AYSO has more than 650,000 players between ages 4 1/2 to 18 all over the United States, as well as Puerto Rico, Trinidad &Tobago and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Median age is 11, and nearly 40 percent of those players are girls.
More than 250,000 parents are active AYSO volunteers and many more support their kids with encouragement at home and on the sidelines.
AYSO is primarily a suburban experience; analysis shows AYSO families are above average in education and income. Although AYSO’s primary playing season is the fall, regional variations, tournaments, clinics, camps, and special spring and summer programs make AYSO soccer a year-round activity.
AYSO regions (leagues) hold numerous tournaments throughout the year and AYSO teams travel all over the country to participate. Families will often play host to visiting players and teams from around the world. AYSO kids and parents talk to friends from everywhere about what they read in PLAYSOCCER.
