It’s that time of year again to do what the AYSO membership does best … volunteer! This year we will help restore and beautify soccer fields for inner-city kids in the NAGM host city, San Francisco.
With the help of America SCORES, AYSO will be restoring Gilman Playground/soccer field and Bret Harte Elementary School during the 2008 NAGM. The sites are in Hunter’s Point, one of the most economically challenged neighborhoods of San Francisco. On Friday, May 23, 2008, buses of AYSO volunteers will head out to the location and will spend a majority of the day lending a hand by planting, painting and cleaning the areas around the playground, fields and school. Everyone who volunteers will receive a special tie-dye T-shirt to wear during the event and will be treated to a BBQ lunch by America SCORES.
Volunteers must fill out and submit the sign-up form, which can be downloaded at the top of the page, to participate in the event. Space is limited so sign up as soon as you can.
Don’t forget to wear comfortable/casual work clothing, a hat and some sun block. Gloves and Goggles will be provided.
