The active soccer lifestyle and good nutrition is the perfect combination for America’s kids. And with that important goal in mind, AYSO has announced a groundbreaking, four-year sponsor relationship with Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF). The partnership joins America’s largest single-entity youth soccer organization and one of the world’s premier nutrition and wellness brands. Herbalife will be the Official Nutrition Advisor to AYSO. The program also includes an opt-in Herbalife uniform logo. A Region that chooses to include the Herbalife logo will directly receive $.50 per uniform to add to its own budget. Here are some frequently asked questions about the new sponsorship. Please note: additional questions, answers and clarifications will be added to this FAQ as they arise. 1. What benefits will AYSO receive from this sponsorship?
The most important opportunities that this Herbalife sponsorship will allow us to pursue are expanding and improving our programs for players. This will directly benefit our kids on the fields.
Other programs the Herbalife funding will help with directly support our volunteers and parents. These include expanded distance learning so our volunteers can more conveniently receive the education opportunities they need and desire; the relaunch of PlaySoccer - AYSO’s home delivered member magazine; new member features for eAYSO; increased customer service for our Regions; the rebuild of soccer.org to be a more useful tool for AYSO volunteers; new e-newsletters that give our volunteers the opportunity to exchange experiences and advice; and public service announcement commercials for use by AYSO Regions on TV and radio. This program insures our ability to fund those elements of the AYSO 25 Year Strategic Plan that are ultimately adopted.

2. Is an AYSO Region required to put the Herbalife logo on their uniforms?
This is an opt-in program. Each AYSO Region makes its own choice. If you don’t opt-in now, you may still choose to opt-in for your next uniform order.

3. How was it decided to make the new Herbalife uniform logo an option?
Your National Board of Directors unanimously approved the Herbalife sponsorship and the Herbalife uniform logo. AYSO’s rules and regulations were amended as permitted under the authority of the AYSO National Bylaws to accommodate this option to our Regions.

4. What incentive will a Region receive for choosing the Herbalife logo to be placed on the player jerseys?
When an AYSO Region chooses the Herbalife logo this year, it will receive $.50 per player to add to its own revenue stream. The use of the Herbalife logo is important to the success of this partnership and we ask your Region to support the program. Please opt-in when your Region makes its next uniform purchase. (Note: incentives can be subject to change.)

5. Will it cost any extra money to have the Herbalife logo on the jersey?
There will be no additional costs to the Region. Any additional cost will be paid by Herbalife.

6. If a region opts-in, how do they go about ordering uniforms with the Herbalife logo?
Tell your vendor you want to choose the new Herbalife logo for your AYSO uniform order. Have them call 1-800-872-2976 for complete information of how the program works, new artwork, etc. If your vendor discourages you from selecting the new logo or does not wish to apply it, we encourage you to contact Score, the official uniform supplier for AYSO, at 1-800-626-7774 or visit http://www.scoresports.com/.

7. How will Herbalife know if an AYSO Region orders uniforms with the Herbalife logo so they can receive their incentive?
Email a copy of your uniform order/invoice to Herbalife@ayso.org. Or fax it to 310-643-5310. Your cash incentive will be processed promptly.

8. How can a Region get a Herbalife distributor as a local sponsor or create other partnerships with them?
Call the Herbalife-AYSO hotline at 1-310-258-7188 (English) or 1-310-258-7189 (Spanish.) You will be given the name and contact information for a pre-screened and approved distributor. Or we can have them call you, as you request.

9. How much is the sponsorship between AYSO and Herbalife to AYSO?
The Herbalife sponsorship is a four-year program including Region incentives, local sponsor opportunities, financial support to cover any extra costs for logo application, financial support to AYSO and activation of other programs to be determined. Consistent with AYSO policies and part of the terms contained in the agreement, we are not allowed to disclose the financial terms of the relationship.

10. Why does AYSO have sponsors?
Sponsor contributions help keep AYSO national fees low. Currently the $11.75 per player national fee is only a portion of the cost to put a player on an AYSO field. And costs are always increasing. Supporting our sponsors is critical both to keeping the sponsors we have and attracting new sponsors for the future.

11. Could there now be lots of corporate logos on the front of AYSO player uniforms?
There is no intention for AYSO to offer additional logo opportunities on the front of uniforms. Regions and Sections continue to have the important right of offering sponsorships that include a logo on the sleeve of the uniform.
This was a unique opportunity for a unique single national sponsor to create a fitting association of the fun and active life style of soccer with the importance of good nutrition choices.

12. What Herbalife products will be involved in this sponsorship?
Herbalife offers more than 250 wellness and nutrition products, but only three product areas are included in this sponsor program. They include protein bars, an electrolyte replacement drink, and a youth line of multi-vitamins, low-sugar protein shakes and similar items. Herbalife’s designation is The Official Nutrition Advisor to AYSO.

13. Does Herbalife have any scientific expertise to qualify as Nutrition Advisors?
Herbalife has established a Nutrition Advisory Board comprised of leading experts in the fields of nutrition and health. These include award-winning scientists, distinguished doctors and renowned nutrition experts. Herbalife is committed to taking the lead in scientific and nutritional advancements and setting the standard by which all nutrition companies are measured. Originally launched 25 years ago with a weight loss product, Herbalife has become one of the largest nutrition and wellness companies in the world.

14. What should I do if I am approached directly by a Herbalife distributor?
Herbalife is only allowing pre-screened and approved distributors to be involved in this program and only at the request of an AYSO volunteer. The penalty for a distributor making direct or inappropriate contact can be up to and including the loss of their distributorship.
